Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process is driven by The Common Services Agency, commonly known as NHS National Services Scotland (NSS), for the "Homecare Delivery of Blood Clotting Factors" contract. This tender aims to establish a framework for delivering Blood Clotting Factor Medicines directly to patients across NHS Scotland. The procurement method used is an open procedure, with the contract value amounting to £1,200,000. The procurement stage is marked as complete, with the contract signed on 7 January 2020. The delivery service is intended to cater to NHS entities across Scotland, with the framework anticipated to manage approximately 2,000 deliveries annually.

This tender offers a robust opportunity for businesses in the healthcare logistics sector, particularly those specialising in pharmaceutical delivery and patient services. Companies that meet the high standards required, including those possessing the necessary licensing and certifications for handling sensitive medical products, such as MHRA Wholesaler Dealer Authorisation, would be well-suited to compete. The framework is designed for multiple suppliers, providing a competitive landscape for larger entities capable of managing the logistical demands of homecare delivery services.
