The University tendered to replace the existing Agilent 7T preclinical MRI system, as it is necessary to maintain and enhance our research programmes. The tender was published as one package but is split into two clear requirements, as each will have their own delivery schedules; Phase 1 - workstations, software, amplifiers. Phase 2 - 9.4T magnet, gradient sets, animal positioning system, RF coils. Possible replacement of gradient amplifiers and water chiller. The mini-tender was instigated during November 2017 and the below suppliers were invited to tender in accordance with Lot 2 of the NWUPC framework agreement Lab3052 NW - HVLE, Magnetic Resonance Equipment (MRI), on a competitive basis. a. Bruker b. GE Medical c. Philips d. Siemens Only Bruker UK Ltd responded with an offer to the mini-tender. The End User and Procurement teams confirmed that the Bruker offer met all minimum and technical standards, therefore, their offer was accepted. The mini tender included both phase 1 and phase 2 to ensure a complete and compatible package was available from a single supplier. THIS NOTICE IS A FOLLOW ON FROM APR315357

Options: Additional purchases were described in the Contract Notice for Phase 1; "Phase 2 equipment - 9.4T magnet, gradient sets, animal positioning system, RF coils. Possible replacement of gradient amplifiers and water chiller." This notice is explicitly for these additional options. Service contracts will be paid for annually in advance but their costs up until year 5 have been accounted for here; Cost of initial equipment + 12 months warranty = GBP 1,455,715.00 Cost of an additional 4 years warranty = GBP 272,000.00 (68k per annum) Total = GBP 1,727,715.00
