Exam Assessment Software

UNIVERSITY OF EDINBURGH

This public procurement record has 1 release in its history.

Summary of the contracting process

The University of Edinburgh has recently completed a public procurement process for the acquisition of Exam Assessment Software, a cloud-based solution designed to facilitate written examinations and objective structured clinical examination assessments. This procurement falls under the goods category and was conducted via an open procedure method, which allows suppliers to submit bids freely. The award was officially made on 26th September 2019, with an expected contract value of £100,000, and the software delivery will take place at the University, located at Charles Stewart House, 9-16 Chambers Street, Edinburgh, EH1 1HT.

This tender presents significant opportunities for IT companies, particularly those with expertise in educational software and cloud applications. Businesses that can demonstrate capabilities in developing compatible solutions, given the context of avoiding technical incompatibility and management overhead, may find this contract appealing. The procurement process's unique structure allows for additional supply from the original provider under specific regulatory conditions, implying that existing vendors like Fry IT may have an advantage, but new entrants can still seek to establish partnerships or provide complementary services to the University of Edinburgh for the duration of the contract.
