This Prior Information Notice (PIN) relates to a project to procure a solution for student ID cards at the University of Strathclyde.

Lot Information

Lot 1

The University of Strathclyde is seeking to replace its current solution for printing and encoding student ID cards. The new solution must meet the following criteria as a minimum; - It will be up-to-date and fully supported; - It will be capable of supporting at least 25,000 students; - It will be capable of supporting at least 10 user stations; - It will be capable of operating with and encoding Mifare DESFire EV2 4K cards; - It will be capable of partially pre-printing cards with artwork that is provided in advance by the Contracting Authority; - It will be capable of, as part of future growth, to operate as an integrated smart card that is linked to building access control and printer accounts; - It will be capable of, as part of future growth, to accommodate increasing student numbers and support a potential move to include staff ID cards.. It is the Contracting Authority's intention to distribute a questionnaire to all bidders who have registered an interest in this PIN by 17:00 (GMT) on the 16th October 2019.
