Summary of the contracting process

The North Lanarkshire Council is conducting a public procurement process for the 'Flexible Framework for Early Learning and Childcare Services in North Lanarkshire 2020/2023', which has been initiated under an open tender procedure. This framework aims to secure external providers to supplement the Council's internal childcare services, providing funded placements for eligible children. The contract is active and runs over a duration of three years, allowing for applications in any of the three years. Key dates include a tender deadline on 15 November 2019 and the awarding notice dated 3 February 2020. The project is targeted at improving early learning and childcare services in North Lanarkshire, UK, thereby benefitting children aged two to those not yet attending primary school.

This procurement presents significant opportunities for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) active within the childcare and educational sectors. Providers offering early learning and childcare services, especially those who can deliver nutritious meals and maintain high standards of care, would be particularly well-suited to participate. The framework allows flexibility for qualified entities to join at various times, making it accessible for new entrants and existing providers alike. Businesses that can comply with the Council's quality standards and are willing to engage with the Council's nutritionists for meal provision would be strong candidates for this contract.
