Summary of the contracting process

The Scottish Natural Heritage is managing a procurement process for a framework agreement to provide helicopter and pilot services, specifically focused on environmental protection activities. This tender, identified as "Framework agreement for the provision of helicopter & pilot services," will run for a maximum period of 48 months starting from 1 April 2020. Key activities include wildlife management and aerial applications of fertiliser, with a total estimated value of £1,000,000 applicable annually across various lots. The procurement method is open, and bidders had until 12 December 2019 to submit tenders.

This framework agreement presents substantial growth opportunities for businesses in the aviation services sector, particularly those that specialise in helicopter operations or environmental management. Companies with expertise in wildlife management, firefighting operations, or construction logistics would be particularly well-placed to compete for the various lots available under this agreement. With the inclusion of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) encouraged, this procurement could be advantageous for a wide range of stakeholders looking to expand their service offerings.
