Summary of the contracting process

The NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is seeking suppliers for the "Mental Health Employability Services" project, focusing on delivering services within the health sector across Glasgow. This open tender, currently in the award stage, involves critical provisions to support individuals with mental health difficulties in securing employment opportunities. The procurement process includes contract awards and initial service delivery, with significant financial commitments of £1.2 million for the "Meaningful Activity" contract and £880,000 for "Individual Placement & Support (IPS) and Job Retention". The deadline for bid submissions was December 9, 2019, and the awarding of contracts has recently been completed.

This tender presents substantial opportunities for businesses in the health and social care sector, particularly those specialised in mental health support and employability services. Organisations such as social enterprises, charities, and companies focused on community health services would be well-positioned to compete. Opportunities exist not only for established organisations but also for smaller providers capable of delivering innovative approaches to service provision. Engaging with this contract may also enhance a company’s profile in delivering social benefits within the community, potentially leading to further contracts in similar areas.
