Summary of the contracting process

Scottish Forestry is the buying organisation for the "Tree Health Pest and Disease Surveys Scotland Framework", a multi-supplier, multi-lot procurement designed to deliver tree health survey services across Scotland. The framework is divided into four lots, focused on different geographical areas, and aims to appoint three contractors per lot. The procurement method is an open procedure, with the tender period concluding on 15 January 2020. Contracts under this framework will cover services related to environmental protection and are classified as 'services' under the CPV scheme.

This procurement presents significant opportunities for SMEs in the environmental sector, particularly those specialising in forestry and ecological surveys. Businesses with experience in delivering tree health assessments, particularly those capable of undertaking reforestation or in-depth pest inspections, would be well-positioned to compete for the contracts. Participating in this framework can enhance a company's portfolio and visibility in the public procurement space, potentially leading to long-term partnerships with Scottish Forestry.
