The University of Edinburgh are seeking expressions of interest from suppliers who can provide a superficial x-ray radiotherapy unit, generating x-rays up to 150 or 200 kV energy for veterinary clinical oncology purposes. The equipment will be installed in a facility on the Easter Bush (Vet School) campus of the University. The equipment will be used for the treatment of superficial tumours in animals. Suppliers must be able to provide: - a roof mounted orthovoltage x-ray unit (XRU) - the treatment planning system (TPS) - undertake all installation and commissioning services - followed by on-site training (with an emphasis towards veterinary clinical oncology applications) and an on-going service and repair contract. The exact location on the Easter Bush campus has still to be confirmed, however suppliers will be expected to deliver and install to site of use. The specification must comply with the following minimum standards: - Must be CE marked - Appropriate UK safety legislation - Maximum 150 kV or maximum 200 kV - Roof mounted (floor mounted is unacceptable for vet clinical and safety reasons) - Supplier must manage the full package installation commissioning and training - Dedicated planning treatment system - Must be Microsoft Windows 10 - Multiple comprehensive on-site training days (again with an emphasis towards veterinary clinical oncology applications) - Comprehensive service plan which includes: water cooling and roof mount - Delivery on DDP incoterms Desirables: - A water cooling system Suppliers who can provide the requirement as described above are encouraged to contact the University with their recommended solution.
