Intensive Family Support Service
Notice Description
The Intensive Family Support (IFS) Service will target pockets of persistent, entrenched worklessness and poverty that are evident throughout the Edinburgh and South East Scotland City Region Deal area. This PIN concerns the competitive grants process for phase one of the IFS programme in the following local authorities: Edinburgh, Fife, East Lothian and Midlothian. The IFS service will implement a holistic 'whole family' approach, tackling intergenerational disadvantage and co-ordinating any existing support structures to create a more joined-up and cohesive package that is effective for all members of the family. Interventions will take a multi-disciplinary approach, providing income maximisation and advice, whole family support and employability in a package that is tailored to the context of the local authorities to support the progression of families, improve family dynamics and reduce poverty. The IFS service will focus on the early stages of the Strategic Skills Pipeline, removing barriers and supporting families to consider pathways to work and education.
