PS-20-24 - Consultancy Services for the Design & Installation of Feature Lighting in Kilmarnock Town Centre
Notice Description
As part of the Scottish Government Budget in December 2018, the Government established a Town Centre Fund from which East Ayrshire has been allocated 1,701,000 GBP to be utilised in 2019/20. The intention is that the money will fund a wide range of capital investments which will make town centres more vibrant, enterprising, and accessible. This may include the re-purposing of empty buildings for housing or social and community enterprises; services, leisure and culture, tourism and heritage; and, improving access and infrastructure. The 1.7m GBP was distributed across communities via a number of projects as outlined and approved in the cabinet regeneration paper of 01 May 2019. One of the approved projects as set out in the aforementioned cabinet paper was: "To explore the feasibility of refreshing/transforming the rear of the buildings in Sturrock Street to enhance the environment and overall appearance of the townscape". The successful consultant will be required to work with the Councils Town Centre Regeneration officers and engage with the Councils in-house Facilities & Property Maintenance, Planning and Economic Development and other stakeholders to develop a strategy, generate a feasible timeline for design and implementation and deliver on its identified outcomes.
