Notice Title

Design, Supply and Installation of Depot Protection System

Notice Description

Principal contractor for the design, supply and installation of a new depot protection system.

Lot Information

Lot 1

Principal contractor for the design, supply and installation of a new depot protection system. Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT) maintains Glasgow Subway rolling stock at its Broomloan Depot. SPT has identified a need to implement a new depot protection system to replace the current system and extend the limits of protection. Rolling stock maintenance activities take place in a five road maintenance workshop. Three of the maintenance roads are equipped with inspection pits and have a depot protection system currently installed and operational. Recent works have installed lifting jacks and a wheel lathe on the two other roads. These roads are not currently protected by a depot protection system but will be in scope for the new system. A new rolling stock and control system is currently being introduced. Once complete, Glasgow Subway will be fully driver-less and operate automatically. The new depot protection system will be required to interface with the legacy signalling initially before migrating across to the new control system.
