The University requires a Supplier to provide a fully machined and assembled Top Spacer Assembly for the Closed Die Forging stack. This must be capable of operating within a closed die with loads up to 2000 ton.

After ten years of operation the Advanced Forming Research Centre (AFRC) is now globally recognised as a Centre of excellence in metal forming and forging research, manufacturing technology and innovation. This is evidenced by an international corporate membership, growing commercial activity with international companies and recognition of the importance of the Centre by others in the field. The Centre has also begun the journey towards establishing itself as the focal point for manufacturing innovation in Scotland. As part of the growth and expansion plans for the AFRC the Centre is presently commissioning a state-of-the-art forging press that has isothermal forging capabilities. This tender addresses the requirement for a Top Spacer Assembly for the Closed Die Forging stack within that press. The University requires a Supplier to provide a fully machined and assembled Top Spacer Assembly for the Closed Die Forging stack. This must be capable of operating within a closed die with loads up to 2000 ton.

Options: The Contracting Authority reserves the right to request additional deliveries by the Successful Tenderer, either intended as partial replacement of supplies or installations or as extensions of existing supplies and installations. The Contracting Authority may at it's sole discretion exercise this option.
