Heriot-Watt University has extended a contract with Instructure Global Limited for the purchase of a Cloud Based Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) Solution and associated software licences with a support and maintenance element.
Lot Information
Lot 1
The extension to the existing contract will extend the use of the VLE platform across Heriot-Watt University. The Virtual Learning Environment contract extension includes software licencing, support and associated maintenance and an implementation element to support the existing business strategy.
Options: Option to extend the contract by a further three years after the first three period and a further three years after the second three year period.
Procurement Information
Under the provisions of Regulation 33 Section 4 Part b of The Public Contracts (Scotland) Regulations 2015, the extension of the contract pertains to the continuation of growth and the development of the Virtual Learning Environment platform across Heriot-Watt University to support existing business strategies. The purchase of additional cloud based Virtual Learning Environment Software licences with associated support, maintenance and an implementation element is specifically extending an existing agreement with Instructure Global Limited for the Canvas VLE product. Operating and maintaining more than one VLE system would result in a disproportionate level of technical difficulty being encountered in the maintenance due to differing technical characteristics.
