Extension of our contract for maintenance and repair to our CCTV estate across the CMAL harbours network located on the Clyde, West Coast and islands of Scotland
Procurement Information
The new contract is a continuation of the existing service to safeguard the extended warranty for key CCTV components afforded exclusively by the current contractor and the efficiency of the present level of M&R support provided. These services were originally tendered competitively and the contract award allowed for a 3-year extension, however, no allowance was made in the original tender for an extension period. A change of contractor at this stage would cause significant duplication of costs as much of the service provision will be covered under warranty and a probable reduction in effective and timely M&R support of this critical harbour system while a new contractor becomes familiar with the logistical challenges of attending often remote island locations and develops knowledge of the system architecture. This knowledge development process would be exacerbated by any extension or reimposition of the current Covid-19 restrictions.
