Food Boxes for the Clinically Vulnerable
Notice Description
As part of the Scottish Government's response to the COVID-19 pandemic, there is an urgent requirement for a system of delivering boxes of essential groceries to individuals designated as clinically vulnerable i.e. with health conditions which require them to be shielded from potential exposure to the virus. Demand is estimated at around 60,000 individuals in Scotland.

The service has been operational since 3 April, being initially covered by Letters of Intent while the terms of the full contracts were agreed.
Options: The contracts are due to expire on 7 August 2020. The contracts include an option to extend for a period of up to 2 months.
Procurement Information
The Authority is of the opinion that the current COVID-19 pandemic constitutes an unforeseeable event which justifies a direct contract award for the delivery of food boxes on the grounds of imminent risk to public health.
