Notice Description

This is a Contract AWARD Notice and as such the procurement process is complete. HIE requires a suitably qualified and experienced broker to provide the requirements as detailed in the Scope of Requirements whilst offering best value in the expenditure of public funds. The broker should have demonstrable experience in dealing with both public sector and commercial property insurance. It is expected that these services will be required from October 2020 for an initial period of 3 years with HIE/WES/ORIC having the option to extend for a period or periods together not exceeding 1 calendar year following the initial term. The 3 year budget currently available to deliver this service is between GBP40,000 and GBP60,000 (excluding VAT).

HIE own a c. GBP30m portfolio of commercial and industrial properties spread across the Highlands and Islands, from small workshop units to prestigious office buildings such as Solasta House at Inverness Campus and Malin House, Dunstaffnage. The portfolio provides important business accommodation to c.85 occupiers to promote economic growth in the area and a provides an important revenue stream to HIE. There are also unique holdings, such as agricultural and forestry holdings at Orbost Estate, Isle of Skye; Cairngorm Mountain, which includes a funicular railway and ski infrastructure; and Arnish Port (where marine cover is required), along with HIE's operational offices. The objective of the contract is to provide insurance brokerage and risk advisory services to HIE, ORIC and WES in connection with their Buildings, Plant & Equipment, and other operational insurances that may be required.. Economic operators may be excluded from this competition if they are in any of the situations referred to in regulation 8 and 9 of the Procurement (Scotland) Regulations 2016.

Renewal: The Contract will be awarded for an initial period of 3 years with HIE having the option to extend for a period or periods together not exceeding 1 calendar year following the Initial Term.
