Notice Description
This agreement should enable Stirling Council in partnership with the SCMA to identify issues, particularly around uptake in areas of high vulnerability and rurality, and take steps to address these. The Scottish Government requires that we provide greater choice and flexibility to early years provision and the use of childminders in conjunction with nursery care is expected to meet that demand.

Procurement Information
Procurement Reform (Scotland) Act 2014, Section 12 states: "(1) Despite Section 8, a contracting authority may award a contract for a health or social care service without seeking offers in relation to the proposed contract." As Child Minding has previously been identified as a care service, and it is our contention that the SCMA is the sole organisation in Scotland who can provide the service required in terms of engaging with, supporting and ensuring suitability of childminders, Stirling Council intend to contract with the SCMA.
