Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process for the "Pathway Apprenticeships Phase 1A" tender is managed by Skills Development Scotland Co. Limited, located at Monteith House, Glasgow. The tender is focused on the education industry and is intended to deliver pathway apprenticeships aimed at young individuals aged 16 to 18 who are not currently employed. This open procurement method has been initiated with a significant budget of around £4 million, with the submission deadline set for 4th November 2020. This is part of a broader programme, with an expected overall capacity of 7,605 apprenticeship placements across various training frameworks.

This tender presents substantial opportunities for businesses in the education and training sector, particularly those offering services in business skills, engineering, IT (both hardware and software), and social services for children and young people. Companies with experience in delivering structured training programmes and those capable of supporting socially disadvantaged youth would be especially well-suited to compete. Moreover, smaller enterprises and training organisations targeting apprenticeship delivery could leverage this contract to expand their reach and impact within the Scottish workforce development landscape.
