Summary of the contracting process

The University of Edinburgh is currently engaged in a procurement process for a service provider for its Building Energy Management System (BEMS). This tender falls within the services industry category and is being carried out in Edinburgh, UK. The procurement is in the Award stage, as the contract with Schneider Electric has been signed on 28 September 2020 and has an active duration of 360 days, with the potential for modification due to unforeseen circumstances stemming from the COVID-19 outbreak.

This opportunity could foster business growth for companies specialising in energy management services or related technologies. Firms that possess experience in implementing and maintaining similar systems, particularly those capable of adapting to the challenges posed by the current global context, would be well-suited to compete. As the contract emphasises the need for continuity and adaptability in supply, this may appeal to both large and small service providers aiming to expand their footprint within the academic and public sector domains.
