Notice Description

This Contract is for the supply and management of a suitable qualified and experienced Building & Maintenance Service Contractor to carry out specific tasks required by National Galleries Scotland (NGS). The Contractor must ensure that correct environmental conditions are monitored and maintained within the estate of NGS to BS 4971:2017 & BS EN 16893:2018 and in a manner that can be sustainable, and in an energy efficient manner, whilst ensuring all mechanical, electrical plant installations, structural and building support systems are maintained in a safe and effective manner. The contract includes all building pre-planned maintenance, breakdowns and repair works throughout the NGS estate; and the provision of minor support works as directed by NGS to cover items such as gallery events and art exhibitions installations support works and minor buildings fabrication work. Summary of scope of services provided include: - To carry out pre-planned maintenance - To attend breakdowns and carry out repair works including 24-hour cover - Minor new work - Set up work for exhibitions - Ensure correct environmental conditions are maintained - Provide pro-active approach to carbon reduction System maintenance services include: All electrical systems excluding IT and security systems - Heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems - Water systems - Joinery repairs The exact requirements are set out in the DRAFT Contract Schedule 1 Specification.

National Galleries Scotland (NGS) are looking to procure a sole Contractor for the provision of Building and Maintenance Services. The procurement will be conducted through the use of the Restricted Procedure. The ESPD will be used as a downsizing tool in this procedure. It is the intention of NGS to shortlist a maximum of 5 Contractors but NGS reserves the right to invite in excess of this number of Contractors in the event of a tie. Economic Operators may be excluded from this competition if they are in any of the situations referred to in Regulation 58 of the Public Contracts (Scotland) Regulations 2015. The objective criteria for shortlisting candidates is detailed under section III of this Contract Notice. A DRAFT Schedule 1 'Specification' of the Contract Agreement and DRAFT second stage quality scoring sections has been uploaded to the portal. This is for INFORMATION and GUIDANCE ONLY as to the requirements of the contract. Bidders should satisfy themselves that they can fulfil the contract requirements prior to completing the ESPD.

Renewal: The Contract duration will be for an initial 36-month period, with the option of two additional 12-month extensions, not exceeding 24 months; resulting in a possible maximum contract extension of 60 months. This is at the discretion of National Galleries Scotland.
