HANOVER (SCOTLAND) HOUSING ASSOCIATION

This public procurement record has 1 release in its history.

Summary of the contracting process

The Hanover (Scotland) Housing Association is responsible for the procurement process regarding the supply of Microsoft 365 licences, which falls under the goods category in the housing and community amenities industry. The procurement method utilised is a selective procedure, and the award was made on 15th September 2020. All procurement activities are carried out from the Hanover Head Office located at 95 McDonald Road, Edinburgh, EH7 4NS, UK. There were three bids submitted, with the contract value set at £227,059, now actively managed under their framework agreement.

This procurement represents a significant opportunity for IT service providers and software vendors, particularly those specialising in cloud-based solutions and office productivity software. Businesses that provide similar technologies or related services would be well-positioned to compete in future tenders if the Hanover (Scotland) Housing Association plans additional procurements. The successful supplier, Softcat, demonstrates the type of large-scale enterprise capable of fulfilling such substantial contracts within the public sector.

Notice Title

CR-H0468-Hanover Microsoft 365 Licences

Notice Description

Proposal to progress with procurement of the cloud based Office 365 productivity software for the organisation.

Lot Information

Lot 1

Procurement schedule of requirements: A) M365 E3 Office licence: This allows a user to operate the productivity software from within the cloud and run a local copy of the application on their Hanover device. The majority of Hanover's office workers will require this. B) M365 F3 Office licence: This allows the user to operate the productivity software located in the cloud only. They are not able to have a local copy of the application on their device. There is a cheaper version of this licence F1 which has the same conditions as the F3 but is read only, the user would not be able to update files. The majority of Hanover's development based staff would be provided with this licence. C) Remote Desktop Service client access licence (RDS CALs): This is required so all the M365 (E3 & F3) licences can connect to our RDS environment to operate our core applications if required. D) Power Bi Reporting: This allows 30 named users within Hanover to create and share Power Bi Reports. This includes the creation of performance dashboards to assist in monitoring of KPIs, using data from our core applications.
