The University of Strathclyde require a de-powdering unit to remove unfused and loose powder from the surface as well as accessible interior channels of an Additive Manufactured part.

Lot 1

A de-powdering unit is required to remove unfused and loose powder from the surface and accessible interior channels of an Additive Manufactured part. The de-powdering unit is expected to work specifically for metallic parts and therefore should be able to handle fine metal powders. All the necessary processing steps should be carried out within a safe and secure enclosed chamber. The unit should have the necessary safety ratings so that it can handle even reactive metal powders such as Titanium. The de-powdering unit shall be housed at the laser powder bed facility at K-Block and is likely to be moved to be housed permanently the new NMIS facility when the construction of it is complete.

Options: The Contracting Authority reserves the right to request additional deliveries by the Successful Tenderer, either intended as partial replacement of supplies or installations or as extensions of existing supplies and installations. The Contracting Authority may at it's sole discretion exercise this option.
