Award of Framework for School Counsellors
Notice Description
We wish to award a Framework for providers of school counsellors to enhance the work that schools, services and partners are currently providing in supporting children and young people's mental health and wellbeing.
Lot Information
Lot 1
This is for a school counselling service to help to strengthen the current supports that Stirling has in place for children and young people and to provide a further level of support at an earlier and more preventative stage of intervention. The school counselling service will: - Be undertaken by suitably qualified counsellors (BACP or COSCA registered), acting in their specialist role, and in accordance with a strict code of ethics, which requires confidentiality and accountability. - Ensure that all qualified counsellors receive regular clinical supervision, of which will need to be procured through this process. - Complement the range of whole school and targeted approaches already available in schools to help support the mental, emotional, social and physical wellbeing of children and young people. - Be based mainly in secondary schools and provide input to primary and specialist provisions (for children aged 10 years and above) when a need is identified. Input to primary and specialist provisions might include the delivery of group work, enhancing the skills of staff, advising parent/carers and occasionally individual input for a pupil. - Be part of the work that Stirling's Children's Service is undertaking on improving mental health and wellbeing that aims to nurture the wellbeing of our children and young people and promote a positive relationship based approach, ultimately improving attainment and achievement. - Provide the right support at the right time within Stirling's staged intervention process.
