The school counselling service will: - Be undertaken by suitably qualified counsellors (BACP or COSCA registered), acting in their specialist role, and in accordance with a strict code of ethics, which requires confidentiality and accountability. - Ensure that all qualified counsellors receive regular clinical supervision, of which will need to be procured through this process. - Complement the range of whole school and targeted approaches already available in schools to help support the mental, emotional, social and physical wellbeing of children and young people. - Be based mainly in secondary schools and provide input to primary and specialist provisions (for children aged 10 years and above) when a need is identified.
