1 x Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) based in Glasgow (home working during Covid crisis)Essential Skills & Knowledge:*** We require all our suppliers to strictly look into this skill set when they search and submit candidates for this position ***The Scottish Government are looking for a Site Reliability Engineer with the following skillset and experiences;Skills and Experience we are looking for:* Experience running root cause analysis on large distributed system ensuring that failure is not repeated* Understanding of software and infrastructure architecture including performance tuning applications, infrastructure and databases;* Experience scaling system sustainably through automation and evolve systems by pushing for changes that improve reliability, velocity and cost efficiency.* Proficient in system monitoring, capacity planning, business continuity, system support and failure diagnosis;* Strong Amazon Web services knowledge minimum of 3 years hands on experience* Solid and demonstrable understanding of AWS well architected framework;* In-depth Infrastructure as Code experience for automation and configuration management (specifically Terraform, Ansible, packer and CloudWatch)* Evangelist for Continuous integration and Continuous Delivery methodologies reducing toil and ensuring maximum change velocity and deployment consistency* Excellent Linux/Unix system administration skills with a bias towards RedHat Enterprise Linux versions 7 and CentOS;
