The Contract includes the supply, installation, testing, commissioning and setting to work of all systems, plant and equipment indicated within the specification and drawings for the Mechanical Services Works at the Glasgow Dental Hospital & School. The property forming the works comprises of a single level 1 storey installation within the Glasgow Dental Hospital & School. Level 1 of the Glasgow Dental Hospital & School comprises 8Nr. Surgery Rooms, reception and waiting area as well as associated staff room areas including offices, tea prep, OPG room and seminar area. A number of toilets and locker room also reside on this floor and are out with the scope of these works. The Floor is presently served from an existing refrigerant-based AC system through ceiling-mounted cassettes, fuelled by external condensers located in the car park above the floor. The existing system is a Daikin VRV system, around 15 years old but is currently underperforming due to a number of factors, most prominently the external twin condenser not operating at 100% capability (one half of twin-condenser not operating at all). The MEP Services distribution routes through the building are by means of high ceiling voids. The MEP installations shall be concealed within public and staff areas. Where maintenance or inspection tasks are required to be carried out, sufficient space and safe access shall be provided. Services shall be designed and constructed to high energy efficiency standards, with particular attention to Section 6.1 of 2019 Building Standards with regards to reduction to carbon emissions. Space heating is provided by an Air to Water heat pump. Air Source Heat Pump System An Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP) shall generate LTHW and CHW to serve high level cassette units for room heating and cooling. Each circuit shall be proved with an auto adaptive, twin head pump. Room cassettes shall be controlled by user adjustable room temperature sensors with restricted control of +-3degC. ASHP shall be complete with Integrated Digital Controls for independent control and communication with the BMS. Optimum stop/start shall be provided such that the internal desired temperature is achieved by the start of the set occupancy period
