Summary of the contracting process

The University of Strathclyde is planning a tender for Patent Renewal Services, aimed at facilitating the renewal of approximately 650 active patent cases across various territories, including the USA, Europe, Canada, India, and more. This procurement, set in Glasgow, is in the planning stage with a total estimated value of £300,000. Interested suppliers are encouraged to express their interest by 3rd February 2021, following which a contract notice will be published. The procurement process provides an opportunity for potential suppliers to engage in early market consultation and explore the requirements further.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in intellectual property management and patent services. Companies with capabilities in providing user-friendly interfaces for managing patent renewals, maintaining live pricing, and delivering comprehensive renewal services for both trademarks and patents would be well-suited to compete. The chosen supplier will play a crucial role in supporting the University’s IP & Commercialisation team, making this an attractive opportunity for firms in the education and legal services sectors.
