Lot Information

Lot 1

Under Regulation Reg 6(1)(b)(ii) of the Procurement (Scotland) Regulations 2016, a contracting authority may award a contract without competition based on the following justification: Competition is absent for technical reasons (only if it is not caused by artificial narrowing down of the parameters of the procurement and no reasonable alternative or substitute exists) Explanation: Following extensive market research undertaken by the end user, it has revealed that the Optidry 250 supplied by My Cryo Firm is the only system that can deliver the necessary specification, meeting the following requirements : 1. Sample base temperature < 3K guaranteed 2. Temperature stability < 1.5 mK 3. Vibrational stability < 30 nm peak-to-peak guaranteed, <20 nm considered 4. Closed-cycle system - no liquid cryogens required. 5. The system includes 4 RF lines (up to 27GHz) and 2 DC lines 24 pins. 6. The sample chamber has a diameter of 25 cm, thus can host commercially available 3-axis micropositioners and microscope objectives. It is sufficiently big to host a large superconducting magnet (up to 7 T). 7. It can be mounted on standard optical benches. 8. It guarantees the future integration of 1) a superconducting magnet capable of generating up to 7T magnetic field and 2) an extra loop of circulation of He gas to reach temperatures of ~1K that can be activated or deactivated at the operator's will. The principal purpose of this contract is to acquire goods in connection with research undertaken by the University.
