i3 Programme RFI
Lot Information
Lot 1
The Fife i3 Programme wants to build new business accommodation that will be attractive to businesses and their supply chain who are intent on using automated manufacturing processes to revolutionise their business and to influence their location decisions. The Programme is part of the Edinburgh and South East Scotland City Region Deal's (http://esescityregiondeal.org.uk/) innovation theme. Innovation in the City Region is focused on Data Driven innovation recognising the strengths and commercialisation achievements of the region's Universities and Research Institutions. It will deliver a sustained investment programme in modern business premises to support the delivery of Inclusive Growth and Innovation in Fife. The total investment is 50m GBP over 10 years, delivered in three tranches. The programme will increase the supply of serviced employment land and new industrial, office and business space in Fife: "servicing 57 ha of employment land; " building 10,700 m2 of new business accommodation; " at least 30m GBP Private Sector investment levered; - support the creation of around 1,000 permanent skilled jobs; and ensure that Fife businesses sustain and improve their economic performance, through improved value from their data and the adoption of digital technologies to create/safeguard jobs and turnover. To assist in meeting the aims of the programme, Fife Council is looking to understand the technologies which should be considered for future potential procurement exercises of light industrial units in Fife. The Council would like to explore options regarding digital infrastructure to provide in-building coverage to support light industrial use of the units, where the occupiers adopt industry 4.0 in their processes and management. The Council will seek to meet with respondents to this RFI to further understand the technological approaches which should be considered to support suppliers looking to harness industry 4.0 and Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) capabilities.. This is an RFI only.
