Summary of the contracting process

The Scottish Government is initiating a procurement process for the "Design and Construction of two Rigid Inflatable Boats" (RIBs) to replace existing vessels used for coastal patrol duties. This project falls under the goods category and is structured as an open tender, allowing for maximum participation. The tender is currently in the "active" stage, with a submission deadline set for 21st June 2021. The contract value is estimated at £315,000, and the critical delivery locations include various locations along the coastline of mainland Scotland and the Islands.

This procurement offers substantial growth opportunities for businesses specialising in marine construction and equipment, particularly those capable of meeting the defined specifications and regulatory requirements set by the Maritime and Coastguard Agency. SMEs with experience in developing similar vessels or providing bespoke marine solutions would be especially well-suited to engage in this tender. Companies should prepare to demonstrate their technical capacity and financial stability, as these aspects will be crucial for consideration during the evaluation process.
