Notice Description

The kitchen at HMP Open Estate Castle Huntly is served with heating, domestic hot and cold (tank & mains) water via an underground combined service duct which runs between the main boilerhouse and the kitchen plantroom. The service duct frequently floods causing degredation to pipework and insulation. This project involves the replacement of the heating & domestic hot & cold water pipework, valves and ancilliaries running within the service duct. New pipework will be installed in pre-insulated PE-X pipework. Works shall also include the replacement of the existing concrete duct covers with heavy goods vehicle rated steel covers to allow ease of access for maintenance. The Works require to be completed by the 8th October 2021.
