The Scottish Commission for Public Audit is planning a tender for the role of auditor for Audit Scotland, with a focus on auditing their annual accounts as stipulated by the Public Finance and Accountability Act 2000. The procurement is categorized under services, specifically in the public sector auditing industry, and will take place in Edinburgh, UK. Key dates include a future notice expected on 13th September 2021. Interested parties should note that the audits are anticipated to commence by the end of March 2022. The procurement process is being governed by the General Procurement Agreement (GPA).

This tender presents a valuable opportunity for businesses with experience in public sector audits, particularly those familiar with annual accounts. Firms that specialise in audit services and have a track record of working within the public sector will be well-positioned to compete for this contract. The requirement for contractors to not be involved with Audit Scotland during the contract period highlights the need for independent auditors, making this an appealing opportunity for firms focusing on integrity and impartiality in their audit practices.
