The BREATHE Hub - Interim Chief Executive Officer
Notice Description
BREATHE - The Health Data Hub for Respiratory Health, is seeking an outstanding individual to provide services as our interim Chief Executive Officer, who will be responsible for delivering an ambitious agenda for the Hub. Our vision is to improve the lives of those living with respiratory illness in the UK through better connected healthcare data. This will be for a 13 month period. The Opportunity: This is an exciting and challenging new position for a self-starter to help shape the future of the Hub as it seeks to become an independent entity following initial start-up funding from the Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund (ISCF), delivered through Health Data Research UK (HDR UK). This initial funding will conclude in August 2022 and the CEO will play a key role in leading the Hub through to its next phase and ensuring continuation of services across the UK. We are looking for someone who is operationally and commercially oriented, enjoys working with a complex environment and has the skills and experience to work collaboratively across a diverse and dispersed team. You should have significant senior leadership experience, preferably at board level or similar, strong business acumen, with demonstrable experience of successfully working within a start-up or new business environment. At the BREATHE Hub, our aim is to improve respiratory health by changing the way the NHS, researchers, industry, and charities use data. We are doing this by creating, Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable (FAIR) rich respiratory datasets, and providing expert support to catalyse their responsible use in respiratory research and innovation. We offer a 'one-stop' service for trustworthy, multi-stakeholder utilisation of curated data for public, private and third sector benefit. You will have excellent people skills and an inspirational way of thinking that will help guide the Hub through to a new and exciting period. A sound knowledge of the health sector, and an understanding of how health data can transform the health care landscape of the future is essential.
