Notice Title

Supply, Delivery and Installation of a Mass Spectrometer

Notice Description

The Contracting Authority seeks notes of interest for a potential procurement exercise for the provision of a Mass Spectrometer UHV (Ultra-High Vacuum). The solution will be used for the below noted purposes: 1) a direct analysis of plasmas generated by electron cyclotron resonance and RF ion sources 2) a direct analysis of the sputtering plume= species sputtered from the targets during the ion beam deposition process The Contracting Authority seeks a solution that can confirm to the non-exhaustive requirements listed below: - The system must be able to measure both mass spectra at specified ion energies and ion energy distributions of selected plasma ions. - The mass spec/energy analyser much be able to detect positive and negative ions, neutrals and radicals over the range of 0-300 amu. The Contracting Authority seeks a supplier that can provide a solution iwth a minimum of 0.1 amu increment. -The system must be able to measure high-energy species of at least 1keV ([preferably up to 10keV). - The system will require a separate differential pumping unit and must be able to measure in the range of 10-5 to 10-3 mbar. - The Contracting Authority desires a solution that includes a UHV gate valve to isolate the mass spec during the deposition process. - The Contracting Authority desires a solution that includes Flange adaptors to fit in UHV chambers with different geometries. The successful supplier's offer will include the delivery of the solution to the University of Strathclyde's confirmed location in the Tender documents. Potential tenderers who believe they can fulfill the above noted requirement are asked to note their interest against this notice by the the 16th of September 2021.
