Notice Description

Glasgow Caledonian University are seeking to agree a contract for services with a law firm(s) who will provide a lawyer(s) (hereafter named 'Law Clinic Tutor') for the supervision of Law Clinic cases and to support the work undertaken by students in the Law Clinic.The Law Clinic provides free and confidential legal advice and assistance to individuals who do not qualify for legal aid and cannot afford professional legal advice up to a maximum individual case value of PS5k.We currently specialise in housing, employment, contract and consumer law, however, we do provide assistance with other areas of law excluding criminal, family and immigration law.We provide general legal advice, draft legal letters, represent clients in court, tribunal and mediation as well as negotiating on behalf of clients in contractual disputes.We require this contract for services as all of the advice provided and work undertaken by our law students requires to be supervised by a fully qualified solicitor(s) with a current and full practicing certificate (including indemnity cover) who is registered on the roll of the Law Society of Scotland.
