This process is currently in the planning stage, following an update to the prior publication date of 28th October 2020. Interested parties should note that this project now encompasses a broader scope of support needs beyond just older adults. Key documents pertaining to this procurement were published on 6th October 2021, with a planned communication update set for 4th April 2022.

This tender presents significant growth opportunities for businesses specialising in care services, particularly those that provide support for individuals with Learning Disabilities, Mental Health issues, and Physical Disabilities. Companies that can adapt their offerings to meet the revised scope of "care at home" for a diverse age group will find this an advantageous opportunity to engage with a leading local authority and expand their service reach within the Edinburgh region.

Notice Title

Homebased Support Re-design

Notice Description

This is an update to the PIN which was published on 28th October 2020 from Edinburgh Health and Social Care Partnerships (EHSCP). Following a significant period of engagement and consultation, with the providers who noted their interest in the original PIN, we are today informing the market of our intent to revise the scope of the original PIN to include all adult homebased support and not just older adults as was originally proposed. This is in acknowledgement that existing "care at home" providers in Edinburgh already support a wider group of people - approximately 25% of people supported by "care at home" providers are under the age of 65 years with a range of support needs linked to Learning Disabilities, Mental Health and/or Physical Disabilities and not to old age and frailty.
