Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process, led by the Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT), involves a tender for minor works at the Glasgow Subway system. The project, titled "Subway Station Minor Works", is classified under the works category, with related activities set in Glasgow. The procurement method employed is an open procedure, and the tender period has ended on 26th November 2021, following which a contract was awarded to Lochlie Construction Ltd for a value of £9,693. The awarded contract was signed on 7th February 2022, indicating the completion of this phase of procurement.

This tender provides substantial opportunities for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) operating in the construction and utilities sectors, particularly those with experience in infrastructure projects. Companies that specialise in minor works, such as plumbing, electrical installations, or general repairs, would find themselves well-suited to compete for future projects, especially considering SPT's indication of potential additional works related to the subway infrastructure. This is a vital chance for businesses to engage with public contracts and expand their portfolio within the transport sector.
