Notice Description

The University of Strathclyde is currently undertaking a market scoping exercise, under Regulation 41 of the Public Contracts (Scotland) Regulations 2015, to understand levels of interest in working with the University to establish a contract for services relating to the trading of UKAs and relevant market intelligence in relation to the UK Emissions Trading Scheme. The University of Strathclyde is an Operator of a stationary installation within the UK-ETS and has a requirement to purchase approximately 20,000 UKAs. The University has received no free allowances in the 2021 to 2025 allocation period.

This Contract will include, but will not be limited to: - Purchases of allowances at auctions on behalf of the University. - Incorporating a hedging strategy on behalf of the university to limit exposure to high prices of allowances. - Holding and transfer of allowances from an authorised UK-ETS trading registry account to the University's Operator Holding Account (OHA). - Providing market insights and intelligence and price forecasts at agreed intervals at no extra cost to the University. - Running market orders.
