Notice Title

NanoString GeoMX Digital Spatial Profiler

Notice Description

Purchase of NanoString GeoMx digital spatial profiler to complement existing NanoString nCounter analysis system within HTPU Microarray Services Facility at Edinburgh Cancer Research Centre.

Lot Information

Lot 1

Purchase of NanoString GeoMx digital spatial profiler to complement existing NanoString nCounter analysis system within HTPU Microarray Services Facility at Edinburgh Cancer Research Centre. HTPU Microarray services is a state-of-the-art facility within the university that provides services to internal, external and commercial clients. The existing nCounter analysis system is an extremely powerful tool for the quantification of nucleic acids with high sensitivity and precision. However, the need for spatial resolution is becoming increasingly important, and understanding tissue heterogeneity is extremely critical to answering key biological questions. Moreover, evidence is growing that spatially restricted protein markers can drive novel biomarker identification and predict/impact clinical outcome. The ability to spatially profile tissue samples aligns with the university vision of increasing the success rate of translating preclinical research into positive patient outcomes.
