Notice Information
Notice Title
Consultancy for future plan for the Glenlivet Estate in its landscape setting
Notice Description
Crown Estate Scotland is seeking a contractor (including joint or consortia bids) to lead a two-stage process of engagement, dialogue, research and planning that will, ultimately, generate one or more reports and/or other suitable format outputs that will inform future directions for local development and land management in and around the Estate. This work will build on previous work Crown Estate Scotland has carried out with tenants and other partners over the years as well as existing and emerging contextual information, such as the Cairngorms Local Development Plan, emerging Regional Land Use Partnerships and Spatial Strategies.
Lot Information
Lot 1
The aim of the overall project is to identify how the Glenlivet Estate can best adapt for the future in a way that supports local jobs and investment, attracts the next generation, improves the environment, and helps to address the challenges of the climate emergency and nature crisis. Natural capital is the world's stock of natural resources, which includes geology, soils, air, water and all living organisms. Natural capital 'assets' such as habitats and ecosystems provide a wide range of benefits to human wellbeing, known as ecosystem services1. It is expected that the overall aim of the project will be achieved by approaching each element through the lens of Natural Capital, in each case seeking to deliver project outcomes by considering their impact on Natural Capital flows and the consequences for tenants, stakeholders and Crown Estate Scotland. The project will consider a long-term vision to 2050 and identify specific opportunities and recommendations for the next five years. The final outputs may include a long-term strategy or 'master plan' and action plan for delivery.
Options: It is currently estimated that Stage 1 will take around FIVE MONTHS duration to deliver, recognizing that some activities have associated lead times due to the involvement of external third parties including existing tenants. For the purposes of tendering a project timeline for delivery of all final stage 1 outputs from the project has been identified as 1 July 2022.
Renewal: Contract is subject to stage reviews
