Optional Works Package 2 : Design & Build of a solar energy scheme to provide additional renewable energy generation capacity to support the operation of the ambient loop district heating system. Optional Works Package 3 : Operation, management & maintenance, metering and billing of the ambient loop district heating system and solar energy scheme. The project is a collaboration with Scottish Water Horizons who are supporting the project by investing in the expansion of their Energy Centre within their existing Dalmarnock Waste Water Treatment Works (WWTW). The Energy Centre will recover waste heat from the effluent treatment process within the WWTW and deliver it to the planned low temperature ambient loop district heating network which in turn will feed existing and proposed commercial buildings in the Shawfield development area. Tenderers are invited to tender for all of the Works and Tenderers must make submissions for all of the Works Packages. The Buyer reserves the right to award Optional Works Package 2 and/or Optional Works Package 3 in its sole discretion to the successful Tenderer.",

For more information see: https://www.gov.scot/policies/public-sector-procurement/community-benefits-in-procurement/ A summary of the expected community benefits has been provided as follows: Clyde Gateway Developments Ltd (the Employer) has introduced measures into the procurement of its contracts to ensure that it secures the maximum economic and social benefit for residents and businesses within the Clyde Gateway area from specific investment and the more general capital investments being made by the Employer. The Procurement Reform Act (Scotland) 2014 is a significant element of the continuing public procurement reform programme. Scottish Government has described the aim of the Act as follows: \"to establish a national legislative framework for sustainable public procurement that supports Scotland's economic growth by delivering social and environmental benefits, supporting innovation and promoting public procurement processes.\" The Act introduced a Sustainable Procurement Duty which is placed on procuring authorities. This duty requires procuring authorities to consider how they deliver enhanced social, economic and environmental benefits from their procurement. The obligations of this duty are set out within the Procurement Reform Act 2014. A sustainable procurement duty will apply to all regulated projects as defined within the Procurement Reform Act.
