Summary of the contracting process

The East Lothian Council, located in Haddington, East Lothian, is currently in the Award stage of a procurement process for the "Ash dieback survey project (East Lothian)." This initiative aims to identify and assess ash trees along approximately 1,072.6 km of public roads to evaluate risks from Ash Dieback disease. The project is classified under the Environmental Protection sector. The tender opened on 30th May 2022, and the contract was signed on 24th June 2022, with a total contract value of £55,559.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses in the environmental consultancy and tree management sectors, particularly those with expertise in tree disease assessment and management. Firms that can demonstrate experience in conducting similar surveys and hold the relevant qualifications, such as Technical Certificates in Arboriculture, would be well-positioned to compete. Additionally, contractors capable of providing community benefits in line with the project's sustainability objectives will likely find an advantage in this competitive procurement process.
