Summary of the contracting process

Historic Environment Scotland is seeking a supplier for the "Inchcolm Island Ferry and Grounds Maintenance Services" contract, which falls under the services category in the conservation and tourism industry. The location for this procurement is Inchcolm Island in the Firth of Forth, with a tendering deadline set for 18 March 2022. This open procurement process has been initiated under an open procedure, previously linked to the planning stage documented on 16 February 2022, and covers a duration of up to three years, with an option for a further two-year extension upon review.

This contract presents significant opportunities for businesses in the marine transport and grounds maintenance sectors. Companies specialising in providing ferry services or those with expertise in island conservation and grounds upkeep would be well-suited to compete. Given the requirements for quality service and strict adherence to safety standards, firms that can demonstrate solid financial standing and relevant operational experience will be preferred. Engaging in this tender could enhance a supplier's portfolio and potentially lead to further opportunities in similar contracts, particularly with Historic Environment Scotland.
