Heriot-Watt University's existing server room building is in their main Edinburgh campus. The proposal is to upgrade the existing Computer Room Air-Conditioning (CRAC) units and provide a new fire suppression system to protect the Comms Room area. The supplier must ensure that the system they propose to the University is based on the next generation HFO-based refrigerant that combines excellent cooling performance with improved energy efficiency and environmental properties. They must ensure the Global Warming Potential is the lowest possible and consider the full lifetime cost of the asset.
