Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process involves a contract modification awarded by The Common Services Agency (commonly known as NHS National Services Scotland) for the "NSSCOVID-19-318 Covid Certification Service - Journey Design and Delivery." The procurement falls within the health industry category and is located in Edinburgh, UK. The current stage is complete, having been awarded on 17th May 2021, with a contract value of £2,400,000. This modification aimed to extend the Covid Certification Service to include additional support as required during the ongoing pandemic, specifically enhancing the app to include Boosters and LFD testing.

This tender presents significant growth opportunities for businesses, particularly those specialised in health technology services and digital solutions. Companies that can provide innovative IT systems and support for public health initiatives would be well-positioned to compete in this space. The limited procurement method indicates a direct award to a supplier, which means potential competitors must demonstrate their capabilities in rapidly meeting the evolving demands of the Scottish Health and Social Care sector, especially in times of emergency.
