Award of Provision of Property Law Legal Services for Transport Scotland
Notice Description
The Scottish Ministers are responsible for the construction, improvement and maintenance of trunk roads in Scotland. They also undertake a range of activities connected to the construction, maintenance and operation of railways and rail services in Scotland.The contract requirement is to provide Property Law legal services, as advised by The Scottish Government Legal Directorate (SGLD) in consultation with Transport Scotland.Ministers, through their agency Transport Scotland, require a range of general property law services on an "as and when required" basis, connected to land acquisition, management and disposal, including legal advice on land and property law and the negotiation, drafting and, where necessary, recording or registration of a range of contracts and deeds. Specific batches of property law services connected to particular road, rail or bridges projects may from time to time be the subject of separate commissions.The Scottish Government Legal Directorate (SGLD), who are the legal advisers to the Scottish Ministers, maintains a dedicated team of legal advisers who will remain responsible for determining, in consultation with Transport Scotland, what property law services are undertaken in-house and what work will be outsourced under this commission.
