Notice Description
Planning in Scotland is undergoing a digital transformation in order to position it as a world leader in how we shape places for the wellbeing of its people. Transforming Places Together: Scotland's Digital Strategy for Planning was published in 2020 to guide this transformation, and the 5 year Transformation Programme began in 2021.We're looking for a DevOps Engineer to join a multi-disciplinary architecture and engineering team that will take the lead in facilitating the transforming a key public service in Scotland.The successful candidate will be getting in at the ground level of a large programme that will be built on the cloud and build a platform and processes for future innovation in the sector for years to come.They will be responsible for:* Designing and building a cloud based DevOps facility to support the concurrent delivery and maintenance of multiple products to a cloud environment;* Designing and building a cloud based GitOps facility to support the creation and management of infrastructure in a public cloud;* Feeding into programme technology roadmaps and target architectures;* Contributing to engineering principles, guidelines, and standards for the programme;* Working with project teams to ensure the DevOps and GitOps facility are able to meet project specific needs;* Transferring knowledge to a nominated member of the staff;* Working as part of agile service delivery teams;* Communicating complex technical concepts to non- technical audiences;* Collaborating with third party vendors;* Creating an operations manual for the DevOps and GitOps facilities;* Defining, managing, and assuring vendor deliverables.
