The Council would like to engage with residual waste processors so that the Council's future strategy can be developed around the final processing destinations which are available to the Council. Residual waste is currently processed at Dumfries, which is c.75miles south of both Glasgow and Edinburgh, and can be easily accessed from north England. This PIN includes an attached questionnaire which provides waste processors with information about the potential requirements of the Council. The responses to the questionnaire will provide the Council with information on processing solutions that could be available. This information will help the Council in identifying technical / commercial / legal matters which are of importance to those who may bid for the contract, and this information will be used to help prepare a future procurement exercise for residual waste processing services.
