Summary of the contracting process

The South of Scotland Enterprise Agency has initiated a procurement process for the design, build, and operation of a commercial bike park located in the Innerleithen area of the Scottish Borders. This opportunity is supported by the Borderlands Inclusive Growth Deal, offering grant funding of up to £6 million to facilitate the development. The process is currently at the planning stage, with an Expression of Interest (EOI) submission requested by 15 July 2022. The agency aims to attract expertise in construction and operational management within the recreation, culture, and religion industry category.

This tender represents a significant opportunity for businesses engaged in construction, project management, and outdoor recreational services. Companies with experience in developing and managing leisure facilities, especially those focused on mountain biking, would be particularly well-suited to compete for this project. The chance to secure grant funding also presents an appealing financial incentive, making it an attractive prospect for businesses looking to expand their portfolio in the growing outdoor recreation market in Scotland.
