Notice Description
Fife Council Education and Children's Directorate has the vision of modernising and maximising the availability and use of bookable childcare whilst increasing the efficiency of the service provided. The service is looking to establish an online/app booking and payment solution for parents/guardians and internal users to update and store child details, check childcare availability, and book and pay (where applicable for different types of bookable childcare resources across all of our childcare facilities in Fife.

Lot 1
Within the Education & Children's Services Directorate sits the Fife Childcare Service, registered with and regulated by the Care Inspectorate and is required to work within the Health and Social Care Standards. This income-generating service provides out-of-school clubs and creches for parents/carers and their children throughout Fife. They cater to children from pre-school age of 6 weeks through to 12 years of age and offer support up to 19 for young adults with complex additional needs. The Fife Childcare team consists of 1 Team Manager, 1 Business Development Officer, 14 Childcare Managers and 1 Creche Manager located throughout Fife. There are 53 childcare sites (not all schools). Between the sites, they run 33 breakfast clubs, 45 after-school clubs, 3 clubs for children with complex additional support needs, 7 community creches for pre-school children, 26 breakfast cafes and 8 playschemes. In addition, each club may run one or more clubs and/or Holiday clubs during the school holidays. Sessions run between 7.30 am - 9.30 am and 2.45 pm - 6.00 pm, term-time before and after-school care and full-day care during school holidays/in-service days. Children registered to use this service currently stands at 11,292.
